Emmerdale
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has aired a twist for Eric Pollard on Amy and Matty’s wedding day.
The long-awaited nuptials didn’t go off without a hitch in Wednesday’s (April 17) episode, but the newlyweds were eventually able to tie the knot after some help from Eric.
When the big day came, Kerry had to break the news to her daughter that she wouldn’t be able to pay for the wedding after all.
Amy was understandably furious and heartbroken over having to call off her wedding, though Eric surprisingly promised that there was a way to save the ceremony.

Before long, Leyla Harding took a mysterious phone call and then announced to Amy and Matty that the funding had suddenly come through. The wedding was back on!
Unfortunately for Kerry though, she still found herself on the outs with her daughter on this very important day, so had to watch the wedding from a distance.
Amy made sure to thank Eric for saving the day, though it was only after the ceremony that viewers found out how he’d actually done it.
Viewers saw Eric meeting up with the pawnbroker who’d bought Kerry’s supposedly valuable stolen necklace for a pittance.

It turned out that Eric had set up the transaction so he could share in the profits from the necklace with the broker by fooling Kerry.
“If you have any more jewellery that needs shifting, well, you know where I am,” the pawnbroker offered.
Eric chuckled and then told him: “Oh, I do… There’s life in the old dog yet!”
In the final scene of the episode, Eric snuck off back to the village without anyone finding out exactly what he’d done.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
