Soludo Suspends Monarch for Confering Chieftaincy Title on Senator Ubah

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has suspended Igwe Ezeani of Neni, Anambra State, for conferring a chieftaincy title on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah without obtaining permission from the traditional ruler of Ubah’s community, Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi. Senator Ubah recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is reportedly eyeing the governorship of Anambra State in 2025. The suspension letter, signed by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Town Union Matters, Collins Nwabunwanne, stated that Igwe Ezeani’s action violated the Code of Conduct for traditional rulers in the state.
